Selected Projects

Young Elvis Young Elvis
Another bold project from the creator of Dellazine and Metromadness.com, Young Elvis features original prose, poetry, and visual creations from some very creative people in the Florida panhandle. Young Elvis is built on a custom-designed content management system utilizing PHP/MySQL underneath a user-friendly administration interface.

Jack Gescheidt Jack Gescheidt
A professional photographer with a diverse portfolio, Jack needed a way to showcase an extensive collection of image samples on his business site. The visual portfolio needed to allow for multiple navigation paths (linear, by set, by thumb nail) and have completely seamless transitions. I built a JavaScript solution using modular, portable, cross-browser code that can be easily scaled and adapted as the website grows.

dellazine Dellazine.com
Dellazine featured original fiction and creative essays covering a wide variety of topics. Della's editor was looking for a way to manage site content without coding individual HTML pages, so I built her a custom content management system using PHP/MySQL. The CMS was a fully functional self-service online application, allowing the editor to publish articles, edit existing pieces, and administer contributors and content categories.

metromadness Metromadness.com
Metromadness.com was a provocative zine that focused on issues of gender and sexuality. I coded the HTML and PHP templates, designed the database backend, and created a custom content management tool that allowed the editor to easily administer the site's content.

call for entries Webby Awards 5th annual Call for Entries, 2000
The Call for Entries mini-site is the primary e-commerce component on the Webby Awards site. I developed the user experience on the site, wrote the technical specifications, and oversaw the project from planning to implementation.

My contributions to the project included specifications, architecture, html, and copy. Backend development by our good friends at We Also Walk Dogs. Ask for Patrick, who knows his kung-fu and has done his fair share of funky poaching.

sfmoma webby prize SFMOMA Webby Prize for Online Art
For the first annual SFMOMA Webby Prize, we needed a mini-site that would function as both a submission site for artists and a secure voting site for the eight jury members. In addition, we wanted a design that was distinct from the Webby brand but that reflected the style and artistic sensibilities of both SFMOMA and the Webby Awards.

My contributions to the project included specifications, html, and graphics (with the exception of the main logo). Backend built by We Also Walk Dogs.
